ACCELERATE is a leadership program for talented Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people working in the creative industries.

The program, which commenced in 2009, was initiated by the British Council Australia.

The vision of the ACCELERATE program is to boost the number of Aboriginal Australians working in positions of influence in the arts and cultural sector. Recipients receive specialist leadership training and a professional development opportunity to intern at some of the UK’s leading arts organisations.

Recent Western Australian ACCELERATE participants include Glenn Iseger-Pilkington, curator; Teagan Cowlishaw, fashion designer; Carly Lane, curator; Ron Bradfield, Artsource; Gina Williams, musician/consultant; Barbara Bynder, curator/academic; and Kyle Morrison, Artistic Director at Yirra Yaakin Theatre.

The Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries is proud to be a partner organisation of this program.
