Formerly the Old Perth Boys School (1897), the building is managed by the Department of Local Government, Sport and Cultural Industries.
Perth Institute of Contemporary Arts (PICA) are the current occupants of the building, as leased by DLGSC. PICA houses a number of contemporary visual arts, performing arts and new media installations.
The building itself is an iconic heritage building located in the Perth Cultural Centre precinct which is also home to the WA Museum, State Library of Western Australia, Art Gallery of Western Australia, Arts House and the State Theatre Centre.
It is a five minute walk from the Perth Train Station and Bus Terminal.
Alongside the PICA Gallery is the PICA Bar where you can grab your morning coffee, midday lunch or evening drinks in the relaxed atmosphere of the Cultural Centre.
