The purpose of the Looking Forward Fund is to encourage and stimulate strong and diverse regional arts and cultural activity leading to social and economic benefits for communities and artists. The Fund will improve access and participation in arts and cultural activity and find new ways to support arts and cultural development in regional, rural and remote communities. 

The Fund is looking for proposals that are well planned, include collaborative partnerships and present opportunities for creativity and engagement with arts and culture.

Looking Forward will support programs that are imaginative, inspiring and assist in the development of markets, networks, professional, artistic and creative skills in any artform.

Assessment Criteria

All applications are assessed against the Looking Forward assessment criteria listed below:

•  Potential for delivery of exceptional artistic and cultural outcomes
•  Key personnel have the experience and expertise to deliver the program
•  Strong planning and
•  Financial responsibility

In addition, the Looking Forward Fund is looking for proposals that:
•  Include collaborative partnerships and
•  Present opportunities for creativity and engagement with arts and culture

Eligibility

Who is eligible to apply?

•  Organisations applying to the Fund must be formally constituted including not-for-profit organisations, Statutory Authorities, Local Government Authorities and Regional Development Commissions

•  Regional DCA Portfolio Agency supported institutions may apply for programs that are additional to core activity and demonstrate strong community partnerships

•  DCA Tri and Multi-year funded organisations may apply but must be in partnership with regional organisations or community groups for new or expanded regional activity. Support will not be given to core operational or program costs as described in triennial or multi year agreements already funded by DCA and touring activity will be precluded in the first year of the fund.

What are you eligible to apply for?

•  Regionally based position costs however this support is not recurrent
•  Region wide strategic initiatives and program proposals
•  A percentage of the request may be used for either equipment, feasibility studies or plans if required to initiate the main program.

Support Material

Signed letters of confirmation from major partners are the only support material required in the first stage. Essentially we require evidence of the commitment of major partners to the development of the proposal and the mutual benefits expected. However, if you are invited to the second stage, a full list of support material required will be provided to you.
