The Story of Martha Rendell – a talk by Professor Anna Haebich

Martha Rendell was the last woman hanged in Western Australia. Over the years some of those who have researched the archives about her case have become haunted by her story and the events leading up to her execution.

The State Records Office of Western Australia and Fremantle Prison invite you to a special evening event to mark the 100th anniversary of the execution of Martha Rendell.

Professor Anna Haebich will be speaking at the Fremantle Prison on 6 October at 6pm on the story of Martha Rendell.

A tour of the gallows will occur at the conclusion of Anna Haebich’s talk. For further details see the flier.

To secure your place at this free event please email curatorial@fremantleprison.com.au by 8 September 2009.
