Monsters by the sea, sandcastles with personalities, mining excavators with attitudes and farm equipment with eyes to watch your every move! Imaginations soar and stories are inspired by David Miller’s whimsical sculptures on display at the State Library.

David Miller is an author and illustrator and paper has always fascinated him. He has written a book called You Can Make Paper Sculptures and his latest book is Big and Me. Bring the children to the State Library for a journey to another world.

27 Oct 2009 - Minister launches plans to breathe new life into Perth Cultural Centre

The area between William, Roe, Beaufort and Francis streets in Northbridge, which includes the State Library, WA Art Gallery and WA Museum, will be transformed with new cafes, entertainment, improved security, an orchard and free wireless internet.

Planning and Culture and the Arts Minister John Day said the exciting changes for the Perth Cultural Centre over the coming weeks and beyond was part of an $11million commitment to revitalising the area.

22 Oct 2009 - Artists in schools help create bright futures

Students and teachers from schools as far-reaching as Bidyadanga in the Kimberley to Balcatta and Wanneroo senior high schools in Perth will be the first to benefit from the ArtsEdge Artists in Residence (AIR) Grants Program.

Minister for Culture and the Arts, John Day and Minister for Education Liz Constable today announced more than $270,000 in funding to regional and metropolitan schools and artists as part of the inaugural AIR Grants Program.
